Flower Beds and Gardens

My yard (Zone 4/5): I have about a quarter of an acre, facing South on a hill with the NE corner being the lowest point. I mix edibles into the landscape as much as possible (I have had guests insist on going outside to look at the watermelon plants growing in the front flower beds before they will believe that the watermelon they are eating was grown here). I do have a fenced in garden area (with 8 beds, 4 feet by 8 feet) for the things that the rabbits just wont leave alone!
